Versione ItalianaMembers and customers of the National Consortium of Retailers always support the work of national and international humanitarian organizations. Each year, in fact, the "Immagina" Catalogue, proposes a different solidarity project which is sustained by both Conad's clients and the Consortium, that doubles the points that each client donates.
In 2005, with Unicef, Conad gave hope to 130,000 Malawi newborn children of being cured of Aids; with the Rigoberta Menchu Foundation it built an elementary school in the village of Lay Chimel and launched plans for the first Maya university in Guatemala, and collaborated with the Fao in their programs for reconstructing a fleet of fishing boats in Somalia, wrecked by the tidal wave of 2004.
The 2007/2008 project, 'A future for Africa', backed by the Rita Levi-Montalcini Foundation and with the collaboration of the Italian Pop Singers National Soccer Team, was addressed to the women of ten African countries: to finance 210 pluriennial scholarships for training professionals who, at the end of their studies, will work on behalf of their home communities.
The 2008/2009 projet, 'Alimentiamo la Solidarietà con un Filo d'Oro', involved the Lega del Filo d'Oro and the Italian Pop Singers National Soccer Team. It was dedicated to blind and deaf people who cannot communicate with the rest of the world. Conad donated specialized assistance to these people on a special project intended to help them to establish relationships and communication with other people and to gain dignity to their lives.
The 2009/2010 project, 'Alla ricerca del vivere sano' is meant to support the Umberto Veronesi Foundation to reach a very important goal, that is to win cancer.
