CONAD

Entrepreneurial ethics and social responsibility are in the “DNA” of Conad. For over forty years, it has practiced such principles as solidarity and the sharing and exchanging of ideas and opinions with local communities. The reasons for this are obvious: a large cooperative system is a good interlocutor for the general public. In countless local areas, Conad member entrepreneurs and cooperatives back social volunteer organizations, cultural events and juvenile sports.

Close to Conad's traditional attention towards local and distant communities, is its commitment towards the environment and sustainable development. Indeed Conad believes that is no longer possible to operate within a territory while ignoring environment and its risks. Conad's dedication to this issue, which is considered by the Consortium as one its essential assets, is testified by its participation to Cooperambiente, during Ecomondo 2009.

Energy saving, recycling, waste disposal and global impact are all subjects upon which the whole Conad system is committed with projects that involve warehouses, shops, energy-supply systems, logistics and the correct training of all employees.
